DESCRIPTION...
The name “Dungeness” comes from one of the most fertile habitats of this species: the Dungeness Spit, a sandy stretch of land in Northwest Washington. The Spit and surrounding community is located on the Strait of Juan de Fuca and named after a desert-like beach of the same name in England.
Like other fish and seafood, crab is an excellent source of high-quality protein. It is low in total fats and cholesterol, low in calories and contains no carbohydrates. Crab is also a good source of B complex Vitamins and several minerals, which makes it a healthful food choice to add to your nutrition plan.
Crab legs are certainly a delicacy, but serving guests with a whole crab can add spectacle and romance to any event. Whole Dungeness crabs are platter-sized and have some of the sweetest crab meat available.
Dungeness crab is an international favorite, highly sought-after for its sweet flavor.
