• Timber bolts are commonly referred to as dome head, fender head, safety head, and mushroom head bolts.
• The underside of the large, rounded, low-profile head of timber bolt has two nubs or fins which prevent the bolt
from turning in the timber (usually between two and four nubs).
• The over-sized head of the timber bolt eliminates the need for a washer on the bolt head end, therefore reducing costs.
• Timber bolts are typically manufactured in diameters ranging from ½” through 1-1/2”. with lengths ranging from
4” up to 36”.
• Timber bolts are most frequently hot-dip galvanized and manufactured to meet the requirements of ASTM A307 grade A.
Stainless steel and high strength ASTM A449 timber bolts are also used for special applications.
• Timber bolt are frequently used in both wood and marine applications,
