What is Rutin?
Rutin is a flavanoid extracted from dried flower buds of Sophora Japonica Extract, also called Rutoside,Vitamin P, quercetin-3-rutinoside.It is vital in its ability to increase the strength of the capillaries and to regulate their permeability. Rutin is essential for the proper absorption and use of Vitamin C and prevents Vitamin C from being destroyed in the body by oxidation. Rutin is beneficial in hypertension. It helps the body utilize vitamin C, supports blood vessel integrity, promotes a healthy inflammation response, and assists Vitamin C in keeping collagen in healthy condition. It is also used in food industry as a pigment.

1. Antioxidant
Rutin has strong antioxidant properties, meaning that it binds to damaging free radicals in the body and neutralizes them. According to the American Heart Association (AHA), free radicals turn LDL cholesterol into plaques, which in turn can block arteries and prevent normal blood flow (a condition known as atherosclerosis). Blocked arteries can lead to such cardiovascular conditions as hearth disease and stroke.
2. Blood vessel health
Rutin has the ability to strengthen and preserve the structure of capillaries and promote circulation of the blood in the body, thereby greatly helping people who bruise or bleed easily. Studies have also demonstrated that rutin can help to stop venous edema, which is an early sign of chronic venous disease of the leg.
3. Anti-inflammatory effects
Rutin has anti-inflammatory properties. Taking products containing rutin can help relieve pain, reduce swelling and improve knee function in people with arthritis. It can also be used as a treatment for people suffering from colitis and inflammatory bowel disease.
1.Rutin inhibits platelet aggregation, as well as decreases capillary permeability, making the blood thinner and improving circulation. Rutin shows anti-inflammatory activity in some animal.
2.Rutin inhibits aldose reductase activity. Aldose reductase is an enzyme normally present in the eye and elsewhere in the body. It helps change glucose into the sugar alcohol sorbitol.
3.Recent studies show rutin could help prevent blood clots, so could be used to treat patients at risk of heart attacks and strokes.
