About Dengue
Dengue is a mosquito-borne viral disease that has spread rapidly in all who regions in recent years. The dengue virus is mainly transmitted by female aedes aegypti mosquitoes and can also be transmitted by female aedes albopictus. The mosquito also transmits chikungunya, yellow fever and zika infections. Dengue is widely distributed in the tropics, with varying degrees of risk due to rainfall, temperature and rapid, disorderly urbanization.
Severe dengue was first identified in the 1950s during epidemics in the Philippines and Thailand. Today, severe dengue affects most countries in Asia and Latin America and has become a major cause of hospitalization and death among children and adults in these regions.
Dengue is caused by viruses of the flaviridae, four different but closely related viral serotypes (den-1, den-2, den-3 and den-4). After infection with one virus and recovery, there is lifelong immunity to that virus, but only partial and transient cross-immunity to the other three viruses that have since been infected. Subsequent infection (secondary infection) with other serotypes increases the risk of severe dengue.
I. Rapid and qualitative detection of dengue virus IgM and IgG antibodies in serum, plasma or whole blood. It can be tested in 15 minutes.

2. The results are reliable, with sensitivity and specificity over 90%.
3. The method is flexible and the sample can be whole blood, serum or plasma.
4. It can distinguish the primary and secondary infections of dengue.
5. It can be tested completely and stored conveniently. The products are stored at room temperature of 2-30 ~C.
TEST PRINCIPLE
Serum, plasma or whole blood samples may be used with this test. When a specimen is added to the test, IgG and IgM antibodies in the specimen sample react with gold particles coated with dengue envelope proteins. As this specimen/particle mixture migrates along the length of the test, the anti-dengue IgG or IgM antibody particle complex is captured by test band located in the test device window causing a pale to dark red band to form at the test region of the test device window. The intensity of the bands will vary depending upon the amount of antibody present in the sample. The appearance of any color in test region should be considered as positive for IgG or IgM antibody. A red procedural control line should always develop in the test device window to indicate that the test has been performed properly.

Dengue virus enters the human body through the bite of Aedes mosquitoes and enters the blood circulation after proliferation of capillary endothelial cells and mononuclear-phagocytic system, forming the first toxicemia. Then, it reproduces in the monocyte-phagocyte system and lymphoid tissue, releases into the blood again, and forms the second toxicemia.
