What size do I need?

High Density Garnet with an effective size of 1.4-1.7mm is placed on top of the gravel. Another layer of Garnet, effective size 0.3-0.4mm, is placed on top of the coarse garnet and will filter down to the 10 micron range. Filter Sand, (effective size of 0.5mm) and Anthracite (effective size 0.9mm), can form larger, less dense layers.

Why Garnet?

Using a High Density Garnet solves a major filtration problem. A properly designed multi-media filter system contains filter media of large grains on top and small grains on the bottom of the filter and provides superior performance even after many backwashings. The solid substances getting into the entire filter bed result in increased solids storage, longer filter runs and higher filtration rates.

This stable condition of large grains above finer one is achieved by the use of filter material of different size and specific gravities.

RZG water filtration garnet media is available in 25kg (55lbs) poly bags shrink wrapped onto a 1000kgs (2200lbs) or 2000kgs (4400lbs) pallet. Alternatively,
RZG water filtration garnet media is available loose inside either a 1000kgs (2200lbs) or 2000 kgs (4400lbs) bulk bag with inside plastic liner on a pallet.

About RZG

Rizhao Garnet Ltd (RZG) as the name implies, is a new rising global leading manufacturer and supplier of Industrial garnet abrasive beginning in 2009. A major strength of the company is the huge size of its garnet deposits and therefore, its ability to supply the market with a safe, reliable, consistent for a long time. RZG has discovered and acquired three exceptionally large (over 250 million tons totally counting over 85% of total China discovered garnet reserve) garnet deposits grading over 80%.

All these three properties were intensively explored for Rutile in the 1980s by several major exploration companies. The high grade garnet content was discovered at the time.

These three most favorable eclogite deposits are the Rizhao Mine, Weifang mine in Shandong Province and Lianyungang Mine in Jiangsu province, which are all in Sulu UHP Metamorphic belt, one of the 28 UHP Metamorphic belts largest in size and best protected. In addition to garnet, also contains some million tons of Rutile. The presence of rutile will significantly reduce the cost of the garnet product to a level which competitive with common abrasive for sandblasting application, like coal slag, copper slag, nickel slag, glass beads, silica and etc.

The garnets in all our three deposits are all rock almandine (almandite) variety with a hardness of 7.5 and S.G 4.0. It crushed into sharp angled, chunky fragments ideally suited for water filter media.

The establishment of our first dry processing plant in Rizhao in 2009 was a significant milestone in establishing the production of RZG Rock Garnet as high quality abrasive with high mineral purity and proper quality control. Around 30 employees are working in our production plant on more than 59000 square meters.

The plant has undergone various technical and equipment upgrades to keep up with the increasing demand for RZG Rock Garnet with substantial investments were made.
