Rigid polyurethane has low thermal conductivity and good thermal performance. When the density of rigid polyurethane is 35~40kg/m3, the thermal conductivity is only 0.018~0.024w/(m.k), which is about half of EPS, which is the lowest thermal conductivity of all insulation materials.
2. Rigid polyurethane has moisture-proof and waterproof properties. Rigid polyurethane has a closed cell ratio of over 90%, which is a hydrophobic material and will not increase the thermal conductivity due to moisture absorption, and the wall will not seep water.
3. Rigid polyurethane is fire-resistant, flame-retardant and resistant to high temperatures. After adding flame retardant, polyurethane is a kind of flame-retardant self-extinguishing material. Its softening point can reach more than 250 degrees Celsius, and it decomposes only at higher temperatures. In addition, polyurethane foams when it burns. Carbon deposits form on the surface, and this layer of carbon deposits help insulate the foam below. Can effectively prevent the spread of flames. Moreover, polyurethane does not generate harmful gases at high temperatures.
4. Due to the excellent thermal insulation performance of polyurethane panels, the thickness of the building's outer protective structure can be reduced under the same thermal insulation requirements, thereby increasing the indoor use area.
5. Strong resistance to deformation, not easy to crack, stable and safe finish.
6. Polyurethane material has stable porosity structure and basically closed-cell structure, which not only has excellent thermal insulation performance, but also has good freeze-thaw resistance and sound absorption. The average life of rigid foam polyurethane insulation structure can reach more than 30 years under normal use and maintenance conditions. Under normal conditions of use during the life of the structure, the structure will not be damaged under dry, humid, or electrochemical corrosion, and due to external factors such as the growth of insects, fungi or algae, or the destruction of rodents.
7. High comprehensive cost performance. Although the unit price of rigid polyurethane foam is higher than that of other traditional insulation materials, the increased cost will be offset by the substantial reduction in heating and cooling costs.
