At present, the World Health Organization is recommending producers to apply alternative ways to antibiotics to prevent and treatment of infectious diseases (Lowenthal et al. 1999). Garlic (Allium sativum) is commonly used as either a flavoring agent for food or as traditional therapeutic agent for the treatment of different diseases (Essman, 1984; Konjufca et al. 1997; Amagase et al. 2001; Sallam et al. 2004). Animal studies have showed that garlic has hypolipidemic, hypotensive, hypoglycemic, hypothrombotic, and hypoatherogenic effects (Bordia et al. 1975; Shoetan et al. 1984).
