Garlic (Allium sativum) is commonly used as either a flavoring agent for food or as traditional therapeutic agent for the treatment of different diseases (Essman, 1984; Konjufca et al. 1997; Amagase et al. 2001; Sallam et al. 2004). Animal studies have showed that garlic has hypolipidemic, hypotensive, hypoglycemic, hypothrombotic, and hypoatherogenic effects (Bordia et al. 1975; Shoetan et al. 1984).
