Dear Sir, We would like to present our company as follows: Metal Market DIS TIC. A.S. established in 2000 as a sister company of Murat Metal which has been active in the iron&steel industries since 1974, is a steel producer and trader company being one of the top 100 exporters of Turkey (ranked 55th in 2008). In 2005, our company has been certified with ISO 9001: 2000 by TUV. The activities of the company is divided in four fields: 1) Export of steel products from Turkey 2) Import of raw materials into Turkey 3) Stockholding and Domestic Trade 4) Third country trade. In details, these activities can be explained as follows: 1) Export of steel products from Turkey : Metal Market is the exporter of Steel Billets, Reinforcing Bars, Wire Rods, Equal Angles, Flat Bars, Round Bars, IPN, UPN, Square Bars, Pipes, galvanised aluminium profiles and PVC, Tubings/Hollow Sections, L-T-Z Profiles and Chequered Plates, Hot Cold Galvanised sheets&coils. We act as Agents/Trades or Principals in these exports. In our principal exports, we prefer to supply the raw material to our long-term subcontractor mills and get the production done under our supervision. In 2008, our turnover added up to about 402,000,000USD and further reference about our company can be obtained from CitiBank-Istanbul, HSBC-Istanbul, SGS, Contecna and Lloyds agents in Turkey. Our major markets which we have regular exports are USA, South America, Eastern Europe, Middle East, Ethiopia, Djibouti, Madagascar, Reunion, Tanzania, Sierra Leone, Liberia and some different quantities to many other African countries. 2) Import of raw materials into Turkey : Here, we work in two ways. One as a regular supplier of raw materials to local mills (materials are HRC, CRC, Steel Billets and Wire Rods. Flat material can be secondary and or overrolling and billets can be random lengths and or mixed quality). We dont do scrap business as any problems which might occur in the supply (i.e. delay, quality and quantity problems, which are not unusual) may effect our export of finished products from these mills. So we try to stay away. Two as the importer of the material for our own production and re export purposes. We usually go for the CIS origin materials for this second kind of business. 3) Stockholding and domestic trade : We have our own stockyard in Gebze/Istanbul region, on an area of 6000 m2, half of which is covered enabling us to hold a stock of up to 50.000 mt. However, we try not to exceed a stock of abt. 5.000 mt. This material is distributed to inland Turkey and, under normal conditions, it takes us 30 to 40 days to finish the stock. The stock includes HRC CRC, HRP, HRS, CRS both prime and overroling/secondary. Apart from this stocking business, we have a large network of customers (over 50 now) for whom we make the imports. 4) Third country trade : This is the business we do from Russia and Ukraine to other third countries such as Africa, Middle East, Korea, Taiwan, China. We are also making cross trade like buying material from China, Brazil and selling to different countries. Metal Market has currently 30 workers and four liaison offices abroad. We define our company as a reliable supplier of steel products to and from Turkey, knowing the importance of regularity and long-term relationships as well as believing in the crucial necessity of good service and intense communication.
