The rotary dryer is a type of industrial dryer employed to reduce or minimize the liquid moisture content of the material it is handling by bringing it into direct contact with a heated gas.
The rotary dryer is mainly composed of the revolving body, lifting plate, driving device, supporting device, sealing ring and other components.
Rotary dryers can dry many kinds of materials, such as wood sawdust, coal, coal slurry, slag, industrial waste, and clay stone.
It’s widely used in agriculture, building materials, metallurgy, and chemical industry.
1. Agriculture: drying wine lees, chicken manure,straw and sawdust,alfalfa,wood chips ,wood shaving,etc.
2. Building materials industry: drying raw materials used in construction and engineering, mainly sand, river sand, yellow sand, cement, clay, grass charcoal soil, etc.
3. Industrial industry: drying industrial products or by-products, such as drying paper mill offcuts waste paper pulp, plastic waste, desulfurization gypsum, fly ash and industrial sludge, etc.
4. Mineral processing industry: used in the process of processing various mineral products after mining, to play a role in bulk drying, can dry materials such as: coal processing industry coal sludge, lignite, cinder, flotation coal, etc.; smelting processing industry ore, mineral powder, slag, copper ore, laterite nickel powder, tailing slag, etc.; sand and gravel industry quartz sand, limestone, active lime, etc.
Working principle
The wet material is sent to the hopper by belt conveyor or bucket elevator, and then the feeder through the hopper enters the feeding port through the feeding pipe. The inclination of the feeding pipe should be greater than the natural inclination of the material, so that the material can flow into the dryer smoothly. The dryer cylinder is a rotating cylinder slightly inclined to a horizontal line.The material is feeded from the higher end, the heat carrier enters from the lower end and is in contact with the material in a countercurrent, and also the heat carrier and the material flow downstream into the cylinder body. A material lifting plate is installed on the inner wall of the cylinder body, and its function is to lift up and scatter the material, increase the contact surface between the material and the air flow, increase the drying speed and promote the material advance.
