The magnetostriction linear displacement (level) transducer is composed of dip stick, electronic block and the non-contacting magnetic ring (floater) installed in the dip stick. The dip stick is equipped with magnetostriction wire (waveguide wire). During operation, electronic circuit in electronic block generates a starting pulse which generates a rotational magnetic field along the waveguide wire while it is transmitted in the Oil floater Water floater waveguide wire. When the magnetic field meets with permanent magnetic field in the magnetic ring (floater), the magnetostriction effect is generated, making the waveguide wire twisted to produce twisting pulse (or called "return" pulse). Energy pickup device installed in the electronic block detects the twisting pulse and transforms to current pulse, and then the time difference between starting pulse and return pulse can be calculated by electronic circuit, namely, the measured position and displacement can be accurately calculated.
