Dichloromethane is an organic substance, the molecular formula is CH2Cl2, is a colorless transparent liquid, has an ether-like pungent smell.Slightly soluble in water, soluble in ethanol and ether. Is not combustible low boiling point solvents, commonly used to replace flammable petroleum ether, ether, etc.
USES:
Dichloromethane has the advantages of strong dissolving ability and low toxicity, it is widely used in the manufacture of safe film film, polycarbonate, and the rest as paint solvent, metal degreasing agent, aerosol spray agent, polyurethane foaming agent, mold release agent and paint removal agent.
Dichloromethane, a colorless liquid, is used as a reaction medium in the pharmaceutical industry to prepare ampicillin, oxypicillin and avanamycin. It is also used as solvent for film production, solvent for petroleum dewaxing, aerosol propellant, extraction agent for organic synthesis, foaming agent for polyurethane and metal cleaning agent for foam plastics production.
Dichloromethane is mainly used in film production and medicine in China.Among them, the consumption of film production accounts for 50% of the total consumption, the consumption of medicine accounts for 20% of the total consumption, the consumption of cleaning agent and chemical industry accounts for 20% of the total consumption, and other aspects account for 10%.Dichloromethane is also used as a refrigerant carrier in industrial refrigeration systems, but it is very harmful, producing highly toxic phosphogas when in contact with open or hot objects.Moisture in the air can hydrolyze to form a trace of hydrogen chloride, light can also promote hydrolysis and increase the corrosion of metals.
Production process:
1.Natural gas chloride method: natural gas reacts with chlorine gas, absorbs hydrogen chloride with water to produce hydrochloric acid, removes residual trace hydrogen chloride with alkali solution, and then dries, compacts, condensates and distills the finished product, including 100% chlorine 4000, natural gas (under standard conditions), 97% methane 1000 m3/t, and 100% liquid alkali 274.
2.Chloromethane chloride method: 1) Photochlorination is the reaction between methane chloride and chlorine gas under 4000kW light. The reaction product is obtained by alkaline washing, compression, condensation, drying and distillation.2) Thermochlorination is the reaction of chloromethane and chlorine gas at (2 ~ 2.5)∶1(mass) at a reaction temperature of 400 ℃ and reaction pressure of 0.2MPa.The reaction products were washed, alkaline washed, compressed, condensed, dried and rectified.
Precautions for operation and storage
1.Avoid droplet and wear appropriate personal protective equipment during operation.
2.Avoid letting released vapors and droplets into the air of the working area.
3.Operate in a well - ventilated area with minimum consumption.
4.Emergency response equipment should be readily available for fire fighting and spill handling.
5.There may still be hazardous residues in empty storage containers.
6.Do not operate near welding, flame, or hot surfaces.
7.Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated place with no direct sunlight.
8.Store away from heat, flame and incompatibilities such as strong oxidants, strong acids and nitric acid.
9.Store in properly labeled containers.
10.Containers that are not used and empty buckets should be tightly covered.
11.Avoid container damage and check the tank regularly for defects such as breakage or leakage.
12.Container galvanized or lined with Phenolic resin reduces the likelihood of dichloromethane decomposing.
13.Limited storage.
14.Post warning signs where appropriate.
15.The storage area shall be separated from the work area where employees are concentrated, and the access to the area shall be restricted.
16.Discharge poisons using plastic hoses that are prescribed for substances.(hazardtext)
17.Substances may accumulate static electricity may cause combustion.Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated place with out of direct sunlight.
Packing storage and transportation: sealed with galvanized iron drum, 250kg barrel can be transported by train tanker and car.Should be stored in a cold dark dry, well-ventilated place, pay attention to moisture.
