Zeolite Socony Mobil–5(ZSM-5)
Zeolite Socony Mobil–5(ZSM-5), is an aluminosilicate zeolite.Its chemical formula is NanAlnSi96–nO.
ZSM-5 CATALYST is thermally assisted decomposition of the organic components. ZSM-5 is used as a zeolite catalyst for waste plastic pyrolysis in oil refinery.It can produce a high-quality bio-oil by the catalytic pyrolysis of PP.
It also can converts alcohol directly into gasoline ( petrol) by dehydrating them to give a mixture of hydrocarbons.
ZSM-5 can be utilized for acid-catalyzed reactions such as hydrocarbon isomerization and the alkylation of hydrocarbons, and is also used as a hydrophobic adsorbent.
Furthermore,it is also helpful as a material for automobile exhaust gas purification catalyst.
