Epoxy Primer with Zinc Rich Heat resistant excellent for Steel surfaces JONES ZIN-R
JONES®ZINC-R is the two-component epoxy primer with Zinc dust solidified by Polyamide.
It is anti-corrosive and anti-abrasion of steel surfaces that have been demanded an epoxy coating system.
JONES®ZINC-R has been certified as conforming to the JAPANESE INDUSTRIAL STANDARD JIS K 5553:2010.
- Good adhesion.
- Resistance to gasoline, oil, water, salt water, sea water and chemical substances.
- Heat-resistant up to 1100C (un-continuous).

| Tools | Airless spray: the fluid tip diameter is from 0.43mm to 0.65mm, min output fluid pressure is 15MPa (150kp/cm2). The angle of spray from 400 to 650. Conventional spray. For inconsiderable surfaces: brush can be used, care must be taken to achieve the specified dry film thickness. Clean tools after using. |
- Bare steel: To get the best finish, the cleaning with abrasive blast should be conformed to SA 21/2, and the removing oil and grease with solvent should be conformed to SSPC-SP1.
- Shopprimed steel: Clean, dry, free from oil, grease and other contaminants and undamaged approved shopprimer.
- Firstly, Stir well the base (part A) with an agitator, then pour the hardener (part B) slowly into the stirred base (part A), and mix them (part A with part B) together thoroughly in the ratio of 19 to 1.
- Epoxy thinner should be only used in the case of exceptional circumstances (max. 5% by the weight of A & B mixture).
- The available A & B mixture must be used within the pot life (7 hours at 230C).
- The practiced surface temperature is more than 100C (It’s at least 50C above the dew point) and the practiced space humidity is equal or less than 85%.
- Drying time depends on temperature, humidity and ventilation of application space. High temperature and good ventilation help the drying time to be more quickly.
