Dewatering filter geotube for coastal protection
Geotubes, sometimes known as geotextile tubes or geobags or geo-containers, are an effective dewatering technology fabricated from high tensile strength nonwoven or woven polypropylene geotextiles. The slurry mix of sand and water are
pumped into the geotube through the filling spouts. The sand will settle out within the container by gravity while the water will dissipate through the permeable engineered geo textiles. A monolithic structure with compacted sand is formed and used in variety of marine applications. The geotube containers typically range in diameter from 1.5m to 5m.
