LNG Gasification Station

LNG regasification station is a centralized gas supply project for industrial gas users. LNG produced at liquefaction terminal is transported to end users. LNG is vaporized/regasified for different industrial and commercial applications. In warmer countries ambient heat is available all 24 hours & 365 days. This free energy is used for vaporization of LNG and therefore popularly called natural draft LNG vaporizers.

Process Description

The process flow of the regasification station is divided into five parts. unloading process, LNG re-gasification process, saturation process, pressure relief process, pressure regulating and metering process.

1. Unloading Process

Under normal circumstances, the LNG comes from the LNG tanker, and the LNG in the tanker is transferred to the storage tank of the LNG re-gasification station. After the LNG tanker arrives at the station, the air-heated pressurized vaporizer is used to boost the pressure of the tanker. After a certain pressure difference is formed between the tanker and the LNG storage tank, the unloading pipeline between the tanker and the tank is opened to reduce the pressure. The LNG in the tank truck is unloaded into the low-temperature storage tank in the station.

2. LNG Regasification Process

The two air-heated vaporizers are divided into two groups. LNG comes out of the storage tank and enters one of the vaporizers to vaporize and reheat to ambient temperature. If the temperature of the air-heated vaporizer after reheating in winter is lower than the temperature range of carbon steel, the gasified natural gas will be heated to ambient temperature through a water bath heater.

3. Saturation Process

The station is required to have the function of regulating saturation, and use the liquid level difference in the storage tank to transport part of the LNG to the saturatiopn booster for regasification and pressurization, so that the heated BOG will return to the LNG storage tank until the pressure in the tank reaches the set work pressure.

4. Pressure Relief Process

When the gas phase pressure in the LNG storage tank is higher than the set pressure of the safety valve, the safety valve automatically relieves pressure and has a manual vent function. The safety valve is vented and connected to the venting system.

5. Pressure Regulating and Metering Process

After gasification, the natural gas can be supplied to the user at the appropriate pressure with odorization by the pressure regulating device, and enter the natural gas pipe network.

6. Emergency Process

In this process, the PLC emergency stop is used to cut off the power to the device area in an emergency state, and the emergency shut-off valve is closed.

Main Equipment

LNG STORAGE TANK

The LNG cryogenic storage tank is composed of a carbon steel shell, a stainless steel inner tank and process pipelines, and the inner shell is filled with perlite for isolation. The inner and outer shells are designed, manufactured and welded in strict accordance with the relevant international or Chinese standards. After dozens of processes of manufacturing, inspection have been completed, the interlayer is filled with perlite and vacuumed.

2. Using nitrogen gas pressure test to ensure that the pressure testing of the whole equipment is oil-free and without water pollution.

3. Using Chinese professional cryogenic valve brands. Imported brands are available according to customers' requirements.

LNG AMBIENT AIR VAPORIZER

The air-heated vaporizer uses natural convection of air to heat the low-temperature liquid in the heat exchange tube to evaporate it into gas. Because it absorbs the temperature in the air for heat exchange, the gas temperature is lower than 5-10°C of the air temperature. The vaporizer is composed of more than 40 parts, all of which are made of aluminum alloy materials. The joints are welded with stainless steel bolts and aluminum alloy angle irons, and are delivered after passing the gas pressure test and welding seam inspection.

WATER BATH HEATER

The water bath reheater uses an electric heating tube to heat the water in the cylinder, and uses water as the heat transfer medium to heat the gas in the coil, so that the gas temperature can be higher than the temperature of the ambient environment. When the temperature in winter is cold, it is placed at the back of the air-heated vaporizer to fully vaporize LNG through secondary heating.

1. The equipment adopts automatic constant temperature gas, and the temperature of the hot water can be set freely.

2. The heat exchanger adopts stainless steel heat exchange coil, compact design and corrosion resistance.

3. The electrical part adopts BT4 explosion-proof design, which is durable.

4. Complete accessories. Each set of heater includes body, electric heater, control box, liquid level gauge, thermometer, water inlet valve, sewage valve, etc.

SKID WITH FLOW, PRESSURE REGULATION AND ODORIZATION

The natural gas that has been processed by the air-heated vaporizer and the water-bath heater is finally processed by the gas pressure regulation and metering skid, and then enters the pipeline for customer use. The main functions of the skid are: gas filtration , gas pressure regulation (usually secondary pressure regulation), gas metering, odor addition, and many other functions. The most common outlet pressure is: 5-15KPa, 10-30KPa, 50-80Kpa, 80-120Kpa, 0.2-0.4Mpa. Because the combustion equipment is different, we select and equip the device according to the actual gas pressure.

EAG VAPORIZER

All the low-temperature gas vented by the safety valve of the cryogenic system is low-temperature gas. When the temperature is below about -107℃, the natural gas is heavier than the air at room temperature, and the emission is not easy to diffuse and will accumulate downward.

Therefore, an air-temperature vented gas heater is installed. The vented gas passes through the heater first, and the specific gravity of natural gas after heat exchange with air will be less than that of air. After high-point venting, it will easily diffuse, so it is not easy to form an explosive mixture.

BOG VAPORIZER

The daily evaporation rate of LNG storage tanks is about 0.15%. If this part of the boil-off gas (BOG) is not discharged in time, the pressure of the storage tank will increase. For this reason, a pressure reducing valve is set to automatically discharge BOG according to the pressure.

The BOG evaporated from the storage tank and the BOG unloaded from the tanker can be used as fuel for the boiler or directly into the pipe network after being heated by a BOG heater.
