Glycerol acetal (GF) is a light glycerol acetal composed of about 60% 5-hydroxy-1, 3-dioxane and about 40% 4-hydroxymethyl-1,3chemicalbook-dioxane. In the presence of an acid catalyst, glycerol reacts with formaldehyde to form acetone. The potential of GF as an injection solvent for toxicity testing has been reported.


Adhibition：
Glycerol formalin is a colorless transparent viscous liquid. As a solvent for veterinary drugs, it has the effect of improving drug stability, increasing drug solubility, reducing drug residue and enhancing drug efficacy. It has become a substitute for propylene glycol, pyrrolidone and glycerol for veterinary drug injections. It has been widely used in veterinary medicine because of its long Chemicalbook effect, no side effects and no toxicity. It can be used in the preparation of isoniazid antidote, avermectin injection, oxytetracycline injection, sodium cyiodilosamide compound, floxacin and other related liquid preparations.
