Cyclocross is a bike racing discipline that involves riding a drop-handlebar bike on a short, off-road course, usually in a park or similar. Courses include features like mud, sandpits, barriers and steps or slopes too steep to ride, forcing riders to run, as well as easier sections.A cyclocross bike is designed specifically for this form of racing, and, as we’ll see, its design serves its purpose of going fast, and being able to be carried when the terrain demands.

The AC388 features a low seatstay attachment which in combination with a modified and noticeably thin seatstay shape leads to a smooth riding experience even on rough roads. The focused approach to improve comfort on the AC388 resulted in a sizeable increase in vertical compliance.
The head tube on the AC388 features a head-to-toe aero profile with excellent aerodynamic properties especially at low yaw angles.The shape of the leading edge is optimized with additional carbon layers in order to be as aerodynamic as possible. Furthermore,an aero profile ensures the perfect transition between the frame and the fork for maximum aerodynamic performance.
The new AC388 has completely integrated cable routing for both mechanical and electronical shifting. This was achieved by our
engineers without any compromise on shifting or braking quality, as well as on the stiffness of the headset. On top of that it will be surprisingly easy for mechanics to change cables and maintain the bike.
