Chemical Etching Machine Structure & Working Principle

Structure: This chemical etching machine consists of theree parts: main machine, electric box, and chiller.

Working Principle: The metal plate to be corroded is clamped on the turntable of the machine. After the equipment is started, the blades on the rotary shaft will lift the corrosive liquid. The metal plate on the turntable is also subjected to vertical impact of the corrosive liquid while making a rotary motion. The unexposured part of the metal plate is corroded and dissolved, then a graphic metal dies is made.

Details Introduction

1. Upper cover: The upper cover is equipped with a balancing roller weight device to make it easy to open and close. The small motor is fixed in the middle position of the upper cover, and the turntable is directly driven by the small motor for rotary motion.

2. Main box: It is welded by PVC board which equipped with propeller shaft, blade, heater, evaporator, and thermoelectric.

3. Rotary shaft: Rotary shaft is composed of blades, water retaining ring, waterproof pad, bearing, bearing seat, pulley

and so on. The transmission between each shaft is driven by the motor, belt pulley, and V-belt. The equipment runs smoothly and lightly with safe reliable stable speed.

4. The materials of the heater, refrigeration evaporator, rotary shaft and blades vary according to the corroded metal material. There are two specific materials: one is 304 stainless steel and the other is TA2 titanium.

5. Electric box: The box body is welded with PVC board. The box is equipped with various electrical components and control elements.The operation panel is equipped with various instruments and operation switches, which can control

the work of the system.

How to finish a good etched dies?

1. Exposure: Exposure machine power should be above 2kw; exposure time no less than 300 seconds. Use of 21 step sensitivity guide and 9~11 range exposure is recommended. 2. Developing: Use NaOH solution, suggested solution temperature is 21-29℃. 3. Touch up: Examine the developed plate for flaws and touch up as needed. 4. Descumming: Put finished plate into 3%-5% (Volume) nitric acid solution, use brush to clean the plate surface. Apply Arabic gum evenly on the plate surface after cleaning with water, and then the plate is ready for next step etching. 5. Etching bath preparation: Prepare it for different etching plate accordingly. 6. Etching settings: Set the etching data for different plates.

7. Bath acid replenishment.

8. Top coating removal (optional).
