α- Ethyl cyanoacrylate
α- Ethyl cyanoacrylate is an organic compound with the structural formula CH2 = C (CN) cooc2h5. It is a colorless and transparent liquid. It can polymerize at room temperature and solidify in a few minutes. It is mainly used for making instant adhesive. The polycondensation of ethyl cyanoacetate with formaldehyde α- Ethyl cyanoacrylate is prepared by depolymerization
It is used to make instant adhesive[ 1]
502 glue is based on α- Ethyl cyanoacrylate as the main component, adding tackifier, stabilizer, toughener, polymerization inhibitor, etc., through the advanced production process synthesis of one component instant curing adhesive. Under the catalysis of trace amount of water in the air, the adduct reacts and solidifies rapidly to make the adherent stick. This product is exposed to trace moisture in the air, which is the characteristic of rapid polymerization and solidification adhesion, so it is called instant adhesive[ 3]
Characteristics: colorless, transparent, low viscosity, nonflammable, single component, solvent-free, slightly pungent odor, volatile, volatile gas with weak tear properties. In case of moisture, water vapor will be catalysed, quickly solidified adhesion, known as instant adhesive. It is non-toxic after curing
