Carborundum has black carborundum and green carborundum two commonly used basic varieties, both belong to the h-sic.Green silicon carbide containing about 97% SiC, self-sharpening, mostly used for processing cemented carbide,titanium alloy and optical glass,also used for honing cylinder liners and fine grinding high-speed steel tools.In addition, there is cubic silicon carbide, which is a special process to make the yellow-green crystal, used to make the grinding tool for bearing super finishing, can make the surface roughness from Ra32~0.16 micron one processing to Ra0.04~0.02 micron.
