PowerLac is a biological product that contains heat-killed Lactococcus lactis strain D1813 as an active ingredient.The heat-killed lactic acid bacteria are a new concept biological product called “Biogenics” that has the immunostimulatory effect on fish and shrimp.And it is one of the most widely used food-additive for human in Japan today.The strain D1813 was isolated from the intestine of wild Kuruma shrimp (Marsupenaeus japanicus).The bacterial powder shows immunostimulatory action for fish and shrimp. Additionally,the genetic induction of the digestive genes leads to improve FCR (feed conversion ratio) of target farming animals.PowerLac has been used for more than 8 years after launching.This product can be helpful to keep farming animals healthy and reduce feed costs.PowerLac is used mainly in Indonesia and Bangladesh.

Mode of Action
Lactococcus lactis strain D1813 induces the gene expression of immune-related factors,toll-1,lysozyme, and so on.Additionally, strain D1813 induces digestive enzyme-gene like Trypsin, chitinase,and so on in digestive organs.The experimental data show a good survival rate and FCR with shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) and Nile tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus).The above functions help the farming fish and shrimp to be healthy and to reduce feed costs.
