What is tocotrienols?
Tocotrienol is a member of the vitamin E family and an indispensable nutrient for the body. Vitamin E consists of four tocopherol components (alpha, beta, gamma, delta) and four tocotrienol components (alpha, beta, gamma, delta). Although tocopherols and tocotrienols have great similarities in structure, there are significant differences in certain biological functions. With the continuous deepening of research, it has been found that tocotrienols have better physiological functions than tocopherols in many reaction systems. Tocotrienol is extracted from rice bran oil. It is a vitamin E compound with three double-bonded unsaturated side chains, which has stronger antioxidant properties than tocopherol.

Application of tocotrienolsTocotrienol (T3) belongs to the vitamin E family and is abundant in rice bran oil and red palm oil. A small amount of tocotrienol is also found in wheat germ, barley, grains and some nuts [1]. Vitamin E is a fat-soluble vitamin discovered by Evan and Bishop in leaf dietary supplements that prevents placental bleeding and helps restore fertility [2]. Totrienol consists of a chromogenic alkanol nucleus and an unsaturated side chain (isoprene side chain). According to the position and number of methyl groups, totrienol can be further divided into α,β,γ, and δ totrienol.
