Nickel Powder is a metallic pigment composed mainly of nickel, including nickel powder and flake nickel powder.
Nickel powder is decomposed by carbonyl nickel vapor after distillation and purification. By controlling the temperature, nickel particles are diluted with carbon monoxide and formed into a suitable shape in the presence of gas additives (oxygen and nitrogen). Then carbon dioxide gas is used to wash off the carbon monoxide and control the oxygen content on the surface of the particles to be 0.065%.
Flake nickel powder is made of high purity carbonyl nickel powder in the presence of suitable lubricant and liquid medium and ground in ball mill with steel ball to form flake with appropriate thickness.
