Turmeric is a rhizomatous herbaceous perennial plant of the gingerfamily, Zingiberaceae. Curcumin is extracted from Curcuma Longa rhizome, with dark yellow surface, shriveling texture and dark orange racture area. It is widely used in India and China as one of anti-inflammatory remedies, and also used as spice, therapeutic drug and textile dyestuff. India and other regions at approximately the same latitude like Burma, Guangxi (China), Yunnan (China), northern Vietnam etc, are the main origins for Curcumin longa due to the special latitude, climate and soil.
