What is  Bacopa monnieri?

Bacopa monnieri is Prostrate herbs, rooting at nodes, much fleshy, glabrous, much like purslane.Leaves sessile, oblong-lanceolate, 8 -- 20 mm long, 3 -- 6 mm wide, apically obtuse, rarely toothed.Axils of solitary leaves, pedicels 0.5 -- 3.5 cm long, a pair of striate bracteoles under calyx.Capsule ovoid, apically acute, enveloped in persistent calyx, 4-valves divided.Seeds elliptic, one end flat, yellow-brown, surface longitudinally ribbed.Flowering may - October .In fact, research shows that it may boost brain function and alleviate anxiety and stress, among other benefits.A class of powerful compounds called bacosides in Bacopa monnieri is believed to be responsible for these benefits.
