Interfaces
This section describes the different interfaces that connect with the Fastrack Xtend. The Fastrack
Xtend comes with the following interfaces:
- 10-pin Micro-Fit Connector
- USB Interface
- 15-pin Sub-D Serial Interface
- Main RF Interface
- Secondary RF Interface (for FXT003 and FXT004 only)
- SIM Interface (not available for FXT004)
- LED Status Indicator
used for:
1.External DC Power Supply connection with voltage from +4.75V* to +32V at 3A
2.GPIOs connection and GPIO voltage reference
3.External Optional battery interface
4.ON/OFF pin to power OFF the Fastrack Xtend
A SUB-D 15-pin connector is available as a serial interface to directly communicate with the Fastrack Xtend.
1.RS232 serial link connection
2.Audio lines connection (microphone and speaker)
3.BOOT signal connection
4.RESET signal connection
Aside from the serial interface, the mini-USB interface (USB Slave) may also be used to directly communicate with the Fastrack Xtend.
This USB slave feature is also used for USB charging feature if the optional battery accessory is available.
When using with the optional battery accessory, ensure that the current limit of the USB slave is greater than 100mA.
To remove the Expansion Card from the Fastrack Xtend, insert the extraction tool hook into the Expansion Card
Using the Battery Accessory
Assemble the battery accessory with the Fastrack Xtend as shown in the figure below.

Wavecom's Open AT Software Suite with integrated IDE is provided by M2M Connectivity for embedding wireless applications.
Three expansion cards are available for the Supreme (IESM's - Internal Expansion Socket Modules).
