Product Overview
Flexible Disk Membrane is a cutting-edge membrane filtration technology, which combines the advantages of hollow fiber membrane and conventional flat sheet membrane. It inherits from conventional flat sheet membrane the features of high mechanical strength, easy maintenance, large flux and low transmembrane pressure, etc., and at the same time absorbs from hollow fiber membrane the features of high loading density, low investment, low aeration demand, being flexible and shakable, etc. In addition, it's prominent in long service life, good effluent quality and stability, convenience for intelligent control, and therefore is very suitable for application in MBR wastewater treatment technology.
Lüchuang® Flexible Disk Membrane adopts Polyvinylidene Fluoride (PVDF) as the membrane material. PVDF has the best chemical stability in fluoroplastics. Its resistance to oxidants (sodium hypochlorite, etc.) is more than 10 times that of Polyether Sulfone (PES) and Polysulfone (PSU). And the permanent hydrophilic modification process makes its permeate flux and fouling resistance further improved. The casting solution and the non-woven fabric were formed into a whole in preparation to achieve a strong adhesion and a high strength so that peeling will never happen.
The Membrane Disk is made of two square membrane pieces welded together back-to-back with a supporting plate and spacer fabrics in the middle for permeation. The proprietary welding technology gives the disks excellent strength so that they can be backwashed and/or air-scrubbed. The flexible supporting plates allow the disks to swing with the aeration/water flow, enhancing the anti-fouling effect. The design of the central collection holes shortens the flow passage and enlarges the permeate flux, and therefore a lower transmembrane pressure and a lower energy consumption can also be achieved.
The Membrane Element consists of a certain number of membrane disks connected with interlocking cams, a central collection tube that runs through the array of membrane disks, baffles at both ends, sealing covers, sealing rings and locking nuts. The patented interlocking cams make enough spacing between membrane disks for their swinging. The wide spacing design also avoids sludge clogging between the disks, thus ensuring a stable permeate flux.
The Membrane Module consists of membrane elements stacked in a certain array, a stainless-steel rack, permeate collection piping, aeration piping, aeration chamber baffles and lifting rings, etc. Various numbers of elements and stacking arrays can be chosen according to specific actual demands. The module is gravity-buoyancy balance designed and has high immersing stability. The uniquely designed U-type aeration pipe is hard to be clogged. The membrane disks shake with the aeration from the bottom, making it difficult for the sludge to adhere to membrane surfaces, greatly reducing the speed of contamination and the aeration demand, thereby saving operation costs.
Membrane Bioreactor (MBR) is a new technology that combines high-efficient membrane separation technology with conventional activated sludge (CAS) process. It uses membrane modules which intercept the activated sludge and other solids in the water to replace the traditional secondary clarifier, so that the highly activated sludge can be effectively maintained in the bioreactor and therefore a higher concentration of biomass and a longer sludge retention time (SRT) can be achieved. The volumetric loading is increased and the quality of the effluent is also greatly improved. Other benefits include smaller space requirements and less excess sludge to be discharged, etc.
The core component of an MBR system is the high-performance immersed MBR Membrane Modules. Due to the operation mode of negative pressure suction (vacuum driven), the energy consumption is 10 - 20 times less than those side-stream membrane modules which are driven by positive pressure. And the system is easy to implement. Under the joint flushing of aeration flow and sewage, fouling and clogging are not easy to form on the membrane surface, which helps to ensure the stable running of the system.
