Ladle refining furnace is a kind of equipment with the function of heating and refining. It is an important metallurgical equipment used for refining molten steel from primary refining furnace (electric arc furnace, open hearth furnace, converter), adjusting molten steel temperature, buffering process and meeting continuous casting and rolling requirements. Ladle furnace is one of the main equipment for refining.
Main functions of ladle refining furnace: 1. It has the function of temperature rising and heat preservation. The molten steel is heated by electric arc to obtain new heat energy, which not only makes it possible to add alloy and adjust composition in ladle refining, but also to add slag to facilitate deep desulfurization and deoxidation of molten steel. Moreover, the starting temperature of liquid steel required by continuous casting is ensured, which is beneficial to improve the quality of dry slab. 2. Argon stirring function. Argon is blown into the molten steel through the permeable brick at the bottom of the ladle, and the molten steel has a certain stirring function. 3. Vacuum degassing function. After the ladle is hoisted into the vacuum tank, the steam jet pump is used for vacuum degassing. At the same time, argon is blown into the bottom of the ladle to stir the liquid steel. The hydrogen and nitrogen contents in the liquid steel can be removed, and the oxygen and sulfur contents can be further reduced. Finally, the liquid steel with higher purity and superior properties can be obtained.
In the 21st century, with the development of modern industry, new requirements for the quality of steel are put forward, so ladle refining furnaces are almost equipped in converter and arc furnace. In the process of refining molten steel, slag and alloy are added according to the process requirements, so physical changes and chemical reactions occur, resulting in a large amount of smoke and dust, which will cause pollution to the working environment and harm to biology. In order to achieve the ideal effect of smoke extraction and dust removal in the refining furnace, the maximum smoke discharge, smoke composition and smoke temperature shall be determined according to the technological conditions of molten steel refining. The maximum smoke discharge amount, smoke composition and smoke temperature shall be determined during the overall design of the equipment. It is the basis for the design and selection of dust collector. Refining conditions and formation and control of flue gas. Generally speaking, the reduction period is carried out in the arc furnace and converter, and now it is completed in the furnace. Therefore, the positive pressure should be kept in the furnace according to the smelting process requirements, so as to make the reduction slag. To control the positive pressure in the furnace, the flue gas will be ejected from the electrode hole, charging port, furnace door and the joint part of furnace cover and ladle. In order to control the smelting atmosphere in the furnace and keep all parts free of smoke, one part is to solve it by using special structure in the design of equipment, the other is to adjust the exhaust gas inside and outside the furnace automatically through the action of water-cooled flap valve to keep the pressure in the furnace basically within the range. The flue gas quantity of the refining furnace is relatively less than that of the arc furnace and converter. In the past, the amount of flue gas produced during the reduction period of arc furnace was usually used to determine. However, the main reason for the exhaust gas of EAF is to combine the exhaust gas inside and outside the furnace. Almost all refining furnaces adopt smoke exhaust outside the furnace, which does not affect the temperature change in the furnace. At the same time, due to the attraction of external air, the flue gas temperature in the pipeline is lower. The furnace cover is smoke exhaust.
