Marine grade 316 stainless steel ball bearings for shafts from 3mm to 50mm diameter  

We can supply 316 stainless steel ball bearings with polyethylene, PEEK or PTFE cages.  These marine grade bearings are available open or with low friction seals from stock and are highly resistant to seawater, salt spray and many chemicals.  316 stainless steel bearings are suitable for temperatures up to approximately 500°C if full complement or 260°C with a PEEK or PTFE cage. They can also be used for cryogenic applications down to minus 250°C depending on cage material.

As 316 stainless steel cannot be hardened by heat treatment, these stainless steel bearings are only suitable for much lower loads and speeds than the 440 grade bearings and are lower precision than 440 types. 316 stainless steel ball bearings are suitable for use in the food or beverage industry and can be re-lubricated with food grade lubricants.  Corrosion resistant bearings can also be supplied insynthetic materials or zirconia or silicon nitride.
